Just seeing if more then just I am thinking of organic waste handling.

Running a landscape business makes me think of these things, and dealing with the weather makes me want to go into business doing this stuff instead of dealing with the random %#^&ty weather.

Plus these things just look cool, big diesel power, 50-200cuyds per hour, and lots of noise... pricetag a downer though #ad

My local recycling center has one, I've never seen the engine, it's enclosed, but the exhaust stack is about 12 inches. They had to go to it when the county banned burning of yard waste. They give the compost away for free. Good idea if you ask me.

Tub grinders are not only expensive to buy, they are expensive to maintain. With the abuse they go through on a daily basis, extensive maintainence is a must. You will also need a big front end loader like a CAT 950 or equivalent. Figure on minimum of 10 acres of land for the operation. Huge mounds of chips will soon be a problem. You might be lucky enough to sell it all. Over here, the two green waste processors have so much chipped material that they give it away.
The larger processor is operating on about 50 acres and seems like he is running out of space.
