Hey First Generation Brothers!:)

Just curious... . Anyone planning on trying a PDR "SuperTurbo" or a KWIKKURT HX40/12CM2 on our beloved First Generation Trucks anytime soon?

Kurious KEENO:D

Hey

I talked to both guys, and decided to go with the PDR, I am not going to make over 350hp. But I need cash, and that has appeared underneath my pillow yet so no excitement yet :( :D

Hey Keeno:

As you can see in my other posts, I'm somewhat confused.

I have a buddy who wants to trade the 21 cm housing for a 12 cm housing. What are your opinions on this? My truck has 178,500 miles on it and I'm not sure if the turbo is wore out or not, not to mention butchering up my exhaust.

So, I also thought of ordering a turbo from Piers around Christmas but this other idea above just came along this week. Idea 1 is sure a lot cheaper but this idea might be a little safer and quicker.

You've tried everything Keeno, how bout some advice:D

Thanks,

John

Hey "J"!

My turbo is about to roll 200,000 in the next few weeks... Still going strong!

My advice & opinion is to install a 14cm2 Non-wastegated from Piers. Affordable & Best Compromise. My opinion only... Others will differ! You will still have to modify or purchase the downpipe though. Once this is done your choices become 12 or 14cm2. Take your buddys 12 and install it... If you don't like it, call PDR and opt for the 14. Better yet, spend a few extra dollars and order a downpipe & keep your OEM for a 16 if you like. You'll have all of the bases covered then and no need to do the downpipe modification.

If the mod bothers you... Just order a 16cm2 & be done with it. Piers has them on special for $125. 00 or check w/ "Stab" of Stabco in First Gen Forum.

Regardless, eventually you'll have to spend a few dollars if you want performance. :D

I'll send you my old 21cm2 if you send me a check for $20. 00 to cover shipping. Give him mine & swipe his 12... You'll be on your way to BOMBing.

KEENO's Thoughts & Opinions :D

I was hoping someone would have had one of these fine units on by now with before and after dyno results. I am interested in the HX 40 just because I would need a 4" exhaust! :D I don't know if this is in future or not. Not convinced of the price per horsepower gain is there. Not to say I won't ever get one. Just thinking about getting a 12-valve 2nd Gen instead. Those turbo's swap, right? ;)
