Looking for some actual experience from people who stepped up from a stock HX35 to a PDR HX40 (wastegated 16cm housing). What were the big differences?

How much slower spooling is it? Will it make daily driving a bore unless I get the rpms up? All feedback appreciated...

Also, are DDII's with my comp enough fuel for this turbo?

Thanks! Oo.

With a manual the Piers 40 will be a great turbo.

Make sure to get the 16cm housing.

I would advise going with some 100-125hp injectors eventually, but your 80's should do just fine for now.

I went from an Hx35 to a PDR40 on my 99 auto truck.

I didn't notice any measurably difference in how my truck performs with the PDR HX40 as far as spool up/lagginess is concerned. It does drop the EGTs down quite a bit, probably see 150-200 degrees less under the same conditions when towing or hill climbing.

It performed well with the stock injectors and better with the 1. 6s.

I had trouble lighting mine up with stock injectors and the 10 plate in stock position. Adding the 370s and sliding the plate full forward, spoolup is quick, once the RPMs come up a little. The 191s help light it up, too, but can't clear the smoke at all now.

Can belch LOTS of smoke now, if I want.

I think you will want more fuel.
