All right you guys settle down. Boost reading is what I need to know and how is you truck equipped. Whats "stock" reading and how do upgrades effect the boost.
Thanks
John

I'm not the biggest with only 22 lbs of boost. This is without touching the pump. Only mods so far are 16 cm2 turbo housing, K&N and a free flow exhaust. My Power Wagon injectors are on order. This is without an intercooler.

Currently running 22lbs also. I have turned the pump up, gone to a 16 cm2, 3" pipe all the way out with a DynoMax freeflow muffler somewhere in between. Injectors would be my next choice also, then I can turn pump back down to normal specs.

Hey Deezul!

My '92 after a JRE inj. pump rebuild & enhancement, injectors & 3 1/2" exhaust will bend the needle to 30 PSI w/ the 12cm installed. I saw 31 PSI, Friday morning with cool dense air from our first blast of Fall here in the SE! My girlfriend's truck, similar JRE preperation, will get to 26-27 PSI with the 16cm at higher RPM.

No male induced testosterone embellishing required! True Story!

Before these mods with a wore out pump my truck couldn't even top 12 PSI. I use to have major "Boost Envy" from anyone that was in the 20 PSI range.

I am also low on the todem pole, I run about 23 -24 Psi with injectors, exhaust and some pump tweeking. The collar is still on the fuel screw, but the aneroid and fuel deliver pin have been the most adjusted.

Hey John! How ya been buddy? Well, you saw my truck and rode in it. Since then, I've added a boost gauge and my 5" dual stacks! (and a few other things) I was getting about 27psi. Now, with those free-flowing 5" chromies, I get 30psi! I have the 12cm2 housing sitting beside me here because I haven't found time to put it on yet sooo... . Thats the stock turbo doin' all that good!(21 or 18. 5. . whatever) I will have to get a 40 or 50psi gauge when that 12 goes on!

Hi guys,I feel like I know most of you because I have been lurking on this site for almost a year, so I thought I would comment on the question. The boost on my 92 is 27 psi, the mods, have so far have been PW injectors, K&N, 16cm2 exhaust housing,no muffler, and pump adjustments

Stock I was at 13 psi. The 16cm housing gave 16 psi ($40/psi). The Banks stinger plus got boost to 18 psi ($500/psi). Diaphragm adjustment actually made the wastegate start working, it was set at 19-20 psi. When disconnected boost would hit 21 psi($0/psi). After the Power Wagon njectors and pump timing boost was 27 psi with wastegate disconnected ($70/psi). I then set wastegate at 25 psi where it is now. I have turned up fuel screw since but left wastegate alone. Boost comes up real fast to 25 psi, probably would peg needle if I disconnect wastegate.

Keeno; which place are you measuring: before, or after, the turbo?

Hey Jsimpson!

My 'boost' signal comes from the 1/8" NPT port on the intake manifold through a brass fitting. The Pyrometer is pre-turbo mounted in the exhaust manifold exit.

UPDATE: Got the 12 on! Without the wastegate, I can get around 35psi! (assuming that my gauge reads accurately after it runs out of numbers, it might stop somewhere down there and I may be getting more) This doesn't sound safe to me so I designed a "special valve" for my wastegate will limit me to 32 psi max. With the wastegate hooked up without the "special valve", it is a trick to get it above 20psi. Don't ask about my "special valve", I would be embarrassed to tell how I did it!

Hey Burkey
Sounds like it oughta scream now, e mail me about that valve im curious. have fun and dont scare any Powerjokes off the road

I'm getting 26-27 lbs of boost right now in my truck. I expect to gain about 5-7 lbs with the installiation of my 12cm turbo housing here within the next few weeks.
