Howdy!

I've made up my mind on buying a little box. But which box I'm not sure. I'm heavily leaning toward the EZ but wanted to get the opinions of the crowd. Who's got the DD-TTPM and can tell me about it?

Mainly I want to know if the EZ has a, "timing only," setting like the TTPM specifically for fuel mileage. I've heard the EZ does but I don't know for sure. Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have the TT and like it alot. I think the EZ makes a little more power than the TT . I heard someone say that the timing on the EZ is more advanced than the TT. I think you would be happy with either box you choose.

JyRO. .

I don't have either box, but it is my understanding that they are the same box, except the ttpm is made by PE specifically for Diesel Dynamics and those BOMBers that have the DD injectors. I have read that Lawrence of DD asked for specific programming for his injector line. Pe makes them and then DD slaps their sticker on them.

I do not know what the different programming is.

EZ

Hey JyRo, e-mail me at -- email address removed -- . I have one for you. :)

I have the DD TTPM along with my DD Stage 3 afterburners. I talked with both the folks at DD and at Edge Products before buying the TTPM, and was assured by both that the differences are very minor. The DD TTPM is slightly tweaked to be better aligned with the unique characteristics of the DD injectors, while the EZ is more "generic" in it's timing/fueling curves.

All I can say, is that I do LOVE my combo!

Jyro, without repeating what others have already said, that doesn't leave much scope :D but, I'm very pleased with my own combination/set-up - see the sigfile.

BTW, Had a little head to head race UP a 5% gradient on the M40 motorway just west of London on Sunday afternoon with a small open top Japanese sports car. He was totally unprepared for the amount of acceleration :D:D and also the black cloud which came out of nowhere - did his open-top image no favors:D:D I guess if there's a next time, he'll make sure he's not looking down my tailpipe!!

Just wanted to bring this back to the top to see if anyone else may be interested in selling their EZ, or if anyone has any comparison information on the DD-TTPM compared to the EZ. Thanks.

I'd recommend talking to Mopar-Muscle or MassDiesel about that. .

It appears the TT is an EZ with different stickers.

I'm trading in my TT for a PE Comp. I like the in-cab adjustability.

EZ Settings

The EZ box has NO timing only setting, like the TTPM. It's lowest setting is fuel boost maxes out at 20 psi air boost. Also, the EZ has slightly more timing advance, to correct the emissions detuning DC did to the engine.

Timing only

RoadRanger - I was told by HVAC that the EZ has a timing only setting. This is what he said,

"The EZ does have a timing only setting. The settings are accomplished by

moving 1 or 2 jumpers from one set of terminals to another within the front

cover. Bottom line is there is timing only and three positions that combine

timing and fueling. This is to delay the fueling so as to keep the low end

smoke down to reasonable levels. " --- HVAC

Since I don't have an EZ I don't understand the moving of 1 or 2 jumpers. Does this make sense? I'm not doubting either one of you guys, I'm just trying to make sense out of what I'm hearing. Thanks.

I run the TTPM made my EZ and the DD2 injectors. There is a definite timing only setting. There are three sets of pins under the rear cover. Placing the jumper across pins 1 and 2 is timing only. 2 and 3 add big time fuel at 10 inches and 1 and 3 is big fuel at 20 inches which is the recommendation for trucks with injectors. I had it set on the 10 inch setting and the truck smoked a ton. Moving it to 20 reduced the smoke a lot and made very little difference in power. The truck will still smoke if I want it to, but it can be driven without producing a noticeable amount. I am very happy with the setup. It is a mid to high 15 second truck with no clutch slippage. It is up to 21-22 mpg at 75mph. It just turned 10K miles... . CJ
