Well its been a while since we had Whos lifted prt. 1 so id like you guys who have lifted your truck to post your pics. Anyone running anything bigger than a 37" tires yet. The biggest 3rd gen i know of is right down the street from me and a buddy of mine owns it :) he runs 40" mtr's. When i get the truck back im looking to lift it so i can run 37" tires nicely.

i still think the front arms need to be an inch or two longer. if you look closely at dave's truck his front axel looks much closer to the rear of the opening? it's not centered for sure and it doesnt look like his wheels are turned?

big dave how about a measurement with your wheels straight?

if i remember right my 01 with 5" lift was like that. (arm could have been an inch or two longer. )

if you get the rock runner kit with the long arm's are they adjustable?

You should also remember that when the suspension compresses the axle moves forward. You don't want to center the wheels up when at ride height, or when the truck compresses fully the tires might hit the front of the wheel well.

Do you think a respectable company like superlift would let out a suspension system that isnt right? I really dont think so, they take months to engineer a system. a company like superlift would never let anything out that isnt right. .

I don't think any of the lift companies do any real engineering. They get a truck take it apart and then figure out how to lift it. The Dodge trucks are pretty easy so the majority of the lifts look and work pretty well, but some of the stuff the lift companies come out with for the trucks with independent front ends is dowright scary.

Superlift is simply the first one out with a real lift for our trucks. Personally, I'm waiting for Skyjacker's 7" long arm which is due out in August. Superlift has really never been known as reputable, at least in my circles anyway. The truck does look good, but I too agree about off center placement of the front axle.

I like the Skyjacker because of the way the lift is done in the rear. No blocks. Only an add a leaf, or complete replacement of the whole spring. They should have their traction bars available soon too.

i looked at skyjackers website and im pretty impressed with there systems for our trucks... When is the 7" kit expected to be out?

Can i run 37" tires w/ the 5" kit? I have M/t Classic II's that stick out about 1. 5" over the stock ones. . They are 17" x 9. they have 5" bs and 0 offset.

I was told by Skyjacker that they were working for a due date of August for the 7" long arm kit. You could easily run 37" tires with that kit and not worry about any rubbing. Personally, I think that kit is worth the wait. I personally wouldn't go with 37's on the 4. 5" kit, but 35's would work and look great.

Looking good!!!

Long Arms - that's the way to solve the "wheel centering" and also potentially dial back the caster slightly so as to avoid Death Wobble.

I previously ran a Jeep Grand - 6" lift. With short arms (only for a couple of months before going long arms), it was drivable but shall we say, "interesting". Took some attention to drive at highway speeds over rough terrain simply because the limited geometry incurred by the short arms. You lift the springs, the arms are oriented much more vertically. Rougher ride and a significant reduction in the life of bushings, etc. Off road capability is also enhanced by the pivot point of long arms being back farther. Much easier to plow into a rock and have the wheel "pop up" and over it instead of shoving it into the ground.

6" and above I'd opt for long control arms. Looks great - wish I could get back into mod fever but I need to be able to pull horses with mine...

Wow... those 37" tires are awful close to the mud flaps. . do the rub at all???

Did lifting the truck force the front axle toward the rear??

Just got my Kelderman 5" installed last weekend. Should be able to run 36's easy when I get them.
