This is our "little" family protector, his name is Tsavo ( savo). I can tell you his name cause it doesnt matter whether you know it or not if you see him.

He is the first "aggresive" dog I have had (including the rotties I used to have). He has no fear what so ever and is very protective. He doesnt look for trouble and doesnt get bothered by much, until something comes in "the zone". This is the first dog I can trust will give his life if he has to for our protection.

He is very patient with the kids and I'm glad to have him as a friend, makes me feel better when I have to leave the wife and kids for a while.

Anbody else have a protector they are proud of?

Pic didnt work, got it worked out 2 posts down.

This one has the biggest attitude of all three dogs. The other two outweigh her by over 50 pounds but she rules the house.

She chased a BIG rottweiller out of the front yard one day before I could grab her. Funniest thing seeing that big dog running from this little thing.

BTW, she get's excellent reception with those ears.

Sig, Glock,Ruger, [sorry to say it] smith & wesson, and Remington all work well here... however I'm very rural and 1 mile up a steep and gated road, so we don't see much RIF Raff

Me too...

While at home the protector is a model 23 Glock, . 40 caliber. When not, its the Weimeraner. She's very attentive, protective, not small, and her bark is as scary as hearing a shot-gun racking in pitch black. I used to have a male and female. The male was bigger, and did pretty much rule. But if he pushed his boundry with her, that ***** could get real mean and nasty. I'd hate to push her buttons being an intruder. She'd eat'em up. Good pooch. She gaurds the camper too! :)

Ha, you guys...

The weapons are nice but the wife doesnt have to aim and shoot Tsavo :D , he's fully auto. He would give her plenty of extra time to shoot if she had too though.

BTW I'm 6'2" and he comes up to my waist. We expect him to finish filling out to a nice 160 lbs lean machine.

Cool Dog.

Dogs make great alarms but if the intruder is armed I will rely on the Kimber . 45 ACP(wife's), Sig P226 . 40(mine) or the 18" Benelli 12 ga. :D

We had an odd incident here in Colorado last week between neighbors and a dog... .

Shooting

Two wrongs don't make a right.

Too bad for his family he had to be stupid. I don't find fault with the law on this one. Somebody smashes my window in with a club, they will get the same.

I have a Springer with attitude and a mean set of ivories, as my alarm system, to wake me up, and grab for the Kimber, also in . 45 or the trusty 12ga.

I also have a Springer Spaniel, never thought they were known for being good protectors until I had this one, when my wife is home alone with him he is a different dog then when I am home. People come to the house but if he does not know them he goes crazy, Had a painter come to the house to give an estimate, he decided to walk around the house before knocking on the door, the dog was inside with my wife and saw the painter outside before my wife realized he was there. Dog went crazy, when the guy finally came the door the dog went right after him without hessiation, my guess is because the dog could see him walking around outside and knew he shouldn't be there. He is a pretty good sized Springer to about 60 pounds

JSmith

He's a Roman Cane Corso. They used to use them back in the day to fight lions and bear in the arena. They are from Italy and were only introduced into the U. S. in 1989.

Protection

Colt Government Model 1911. Two additional thoughts: 1. There are two types of pistol owners,Thosed who bought 45`s, and those who eventually wish they had. And 2. There is little need for double stack magazines. You can`t miss fast enough to catch up. :D

Happy with mine...

After firing this . 40 cal Glock (model 23), I believe its plenty. Its accurate and Glock is the Cummins of semi-automatic handguns. I do not wish I had a . 45. What am I missing that I'm not aware of?

I read a report once about police agencies and handgun calibers and it basically spelled out how many times officers shot at criminals and with what caliber and also what percentage died. The 40 caliber killed more than any other caliber per incident. You can have your 45 I'll keep my 40 even if it is a S&W. I would give my left one for a 45 Kimber though!

Autoloaders sure are nice and you can't beat the firepower, but we rely on the simplicity and reliability of a pair of Ruger speed sixes... mine in 357, the wife's in 38... After the first couple pops somebody ain't gonna be around to lie about it so why tote the extra ammo. Plus I can always throw the Ruger.

Alarm is a 20 lb ****zu named Pirate..... I figure while the intruder is laughing and watching the dog run away I'll have time to aim.

edit... . censor won't even let me post the breed... see it worked you're laughing.

Ben and Dakota. Ben never says anything. Dakota is the alarm. He distracts the intruder by trying to play with him, while Ben sneaks up on him. Ben is the big one.

Then my dad or I arm ourselves :) Could be anything from my 1911 to my dads S & W 9mm, or if time permits, the AR15 or the Mossberg 500USA 12 guage (complete with Surefire light system :D)
