and where did you get them? I like the looks of them, but all I find is the 2-5/8 size. Want to go with pillar mount but it,s only 2-1/16 opening. Any ideas? Need to find out this weekend so I can order Monday as I got me a EZ today and couldn't wait to put it on-- just to try it out #ad
--had to make sure it worked #ad
I know, I know it's coming back off Sunday (only cause truck goes in Monday for the ole "steering wander" #ad
) Will go with Isspros for 2nd choice if no info. Any and all feedback appreciated. Thanks, Doug

I've got the Ultra Lites. 2-1/16". Got 'em at Genos Garage (Where else?)

And I love them!

<font color=blue>Well Geno's Garage can prolly get them, Summit Racing, JRE, and prolly lots of others.

I would suggest going to the Autometer Website and looking up the model numbers for the exact gauges you want. That way you see the entire product line for the most part.

Hope this helps. <font size=-2>

X-10,
Try www.dieselpage.com they have great service and prices. I bought AutoMeter Pro Comp Ultra Lites, 60# boost and Pyrometer w/mounting cups for about 200. The only thing I tried and didn't like was the light covers, too dim. I went to Pep Boys and bought blue colored bulbs, they are not so dim. I have mine mounted infront of my gearshifter. An a-pillar mount w/light covers works good as the gauges are closer. Hope this helps. Sam

Thanks for the info so far guys. I had been to Autometers web site and only found listings of gauges that were close to what others are running but not quite the same. I kindof figured that they must not be listing ALL gauges on the web. Will have to find time to call during business hours on Monday to get part #'s. Thanks for the insight on the liquid filled gauges EMDDIESEL. I didn't think I needed that kind of ruggedness, but do like the looks of them. Do you know if the liquid would freeze, I assume not. H. O. , are your gauges the 2-1/16 or 2-5/8? I will probably call D. I. S. after Autometer and see about dealing with them so they can make sure I get the right setup for the diesel. Might have to get a rush order on whatever I wind up with as I got to run the EZ some more today and find myself slipping fast #ad
#ad
Thanks again, Doug

The Pro Comps use Glycerin as a filler which will not freeze, so if you do go with them, there will be no problem with that. I totally agree that Auto Meters site is totally lame in that they bareley list anything that they make. When you call you find out they make stuff you never thought of. It pays to call them

In Aug. ,'00, when I got my 1 1/16 inch, Pro Comp gauges,(EGT. , Boost, and Fuel Pressure), the best price I found was at carparts.com. There was a mix up on initial order, but they were real good about getting it all straightened out.

Just so you know, Auto Meter makes ALOT of gauges that are not listed on thier website. Like boost gauges in higher readings then 0-35 and 0-60 and alot of gauges in styles that are normally not listed. They can also do Black bezels on any of there gauge series. Give them a call at 815-895-8141. Get the exact part numbers you need and then find a cheap mail order place. I have so far found really good pricing on Autometer form www.summitracing.com Again, Summit also sells alot of stuff not listed on there site, its best to call them if you dont see what you want. In Regards to the "Pro Comp" series, that series of MECHANICAL (The electric Pro Comps are not liquid filled) gauges are liguid filled to reduce vibration which is nice but if you have ever seen them, the fluid does not go all the way to the top (to allow for expansion) and they look kind of wierd, i used to hear "Whats wrong with your gauges?" ALL THE TIME. Just wanted to point that out so you dont think "What the hell?" when you get one. The liquid filled ones are really overkill for our applications, NASCAR does not even use them that much. They are really for SEVERE vibration applications like TopFuel racing But they do look cool with the yellow writing. Good luck

Hey Vaughn, can you fit 2 of them 1-1/16" gauges into one of the pillar holes? #ad
Just BS'n! You new it was coming #ad
Do you have the black faced gauges, and do you have the 60# boost? Glad to hear they do make them in the right size. You're right EMDDIESEL, it seems like any web site I look at, I find more gauges that are'nt listed on Autometers page. Guess I should have been researching gauges instead of boxes and injectors! Thanks, Doug

A little HELP to navagate the AutoMeter web site.

1: Go to the link in KatDiesels comment above.
2: choose the High performance link (picture of the meters at the top).
3: Go to the Catalog. upper right picture
4: scroll down to the "Street Exhaust Gas Temp. Kits LINK and click on that...
5: Choose the Series that pleases you.

That will show you the EGT Kit number.

THEN--- scroll to the bottom of that page AND click on PREVIOUS link to see the other guages in that series--ie 0-35 lb Boost--

If you don't like that Series of guages go back to Step 5: and choose another Series and use the same procedure.

I agree that the sites "HAVE NEGATIVE BOOST" ie. suck.

GOOD LUCK

I have the Carbon Fiber Pro Comp Boost and EGT I got from DIS. The pro-comps use a different pyro so they cost a little more. It was an Extra $46 to get the carbon fiber guage becuase of the extra cost of the better gauge and the pyro. But they Look Awsome!!

HI X-10,
The gauges are 2-1/16. I will order from DIS again. I still need a fuel pressure gauge.

Also, dont forget that Autometer has ALOT more gauges then they show on thier site. They also have custom options like different color bezels available too, call them for info

OK guys, what the heck's the deal? I called Autometer today (2 different times) and talked to 2 different gals about 2-1/16" Pro Comps. Both said they don't make them. Asked about the Carbon fibers and they said they do make them in the 2-1/16 but the Boost only goes to 35. I said a couple of guys on the TDR have said they have both kinds. No reply, then, this is all we show. The second gal did say there was a good chance they would be making the Carbon boost in a 60 some time in the future. I then called DIS to see if they had any idea what was going on and he said (rightfully so) that if I just talked to them, & couldn't get part #'s it would do no good for him to call. What's a guy to do. #ad
Any other ideas? How much boost do you get with DD2's and the EZ? I think I see a set, sometime in the future, and want to make sure I get a gauge that goes high enough for these.
EMDDIESEL, sounds like you deal with Autometer quite a bit. You got any inside sources?
Sorry so long of a post, I know I'm making this harder than it should be but I know they must be out there just how to get them! Last question, are the Isspro's just as good quality?
Thanks guys for all the help, Doug

I will call Autometer tommorow and talk to a guy there who i deal with. The 3 girls who answer the phones know nothing more then whats in the Catalogs. As far as Pro Comps go, they are only made in 2. 5/8" which does not fit in the "A" pillar setup. I think the name "Pro comp" is being used too often about a differnt style of gauge and is causing confusion.

The "Pro Comp" series and the "Sport Comp" series both have aluminum bezels and black faces standard, the main difference between the two is Sport Comps have white lettering and the Pro Comps have Yellow lettering. Remember, i am only speaking of the ELECTRIC Pro Comps, the mechanical Pro Comps are all liquid filled.
The Pro Comps are ONLY available in 2. 5/8" size.
The Sport Comps, however (As are the "Phantom", "Carbon Fiber" and "Ultra Lites") are available in 2. 1/16" (which is the "A" pillar size), and 2. 5/8" which is the size most people use with mounting cups.

So, for your "A" pillar you CANT use any Pro Comp series. You can get Sport comp Boost gauges in 0-20, 0-35 and 0-60psi.
Let me know exactly what it is you want in style and range and i will call them tommorow and get you the part numbers.

Lastly, i saw on Genos garage website they said that you can ONLY get a 0-35psi gauge in the Ultra Lite series, i dont know where they get there information, i have 0-35 Sport comp in my truck

Hey X-10,
This is right off my DIS invoice:
