After reading what seemed like hundreds of threads on mounting guages, I was a bit worried that the autometer 3 guage a-pillar was not going to fit well based on feedback on the board.

I installed my autometer 3 guage a-pillar with tweeter last night, and I must say that the fit is excellent. It was very easy to slide in and out while fitting, and with one SS sheet metal screw between the top and middle guage, the a-pillar mount is very sturdy and easy to remove. And even better, I can't even see the screw unless you are looking through the windsheild from the front of the truck.

The shape and fit is nearly a perfect match - so if you are contemplating this purchase, I would not hesitate.

Autometer A pillar

damon,

I agree with you.

The install on mine went very well and the finished product looks great. I went the unmolested route as well as most of the guys here did when installing it. I used it as a pillar cover replacement rather than just butchering and covering the old pillar. I got mine from Geno's garage, so I followed their instructions that came with it.

I got the replacement for mine and still butchered the old one. My friend and I took the clip of the old pillar cover and epoxied it on the autometer one. That way, no screw and I can take it off and put it back on with ease (if I was going to change out my gauges).

I also went with the epoxied clip route. Would have never thought of it if it wasn't for the TDR. To me it was worth the extra work... . looks totally OEM.

We have installed many of the these pods on trucks with speakers and have found that if you cut out all the raised area of the speaker from the stock pillar the pod fits well over it. We cut right up to the mounting tab on the pillar and use plastic push pins painted to match the truck and pillar to mount the pod to the pillar.
