My 6. 7 has been so dependable I can't see any reason to change anything on it. 290,000 miles with minor problems, pulling a trailer 95% of the time. I talk to alot of pipeliners who HATE their fords & chevys. Granted they like to sit in their trucks and let them run all day, thats just not somethimg I do with mine. Sure it would be nice to get alot better fuel milage, but the numbers I get sure beat the heck out of what my Dad got with his gas burner 454. I'm a happy camper with this dodge, I just hope I can make it to the 500k mark so I can go buy another one... (if my wife lets me):-laf

I know what you mean... I love my '09 4500. I only have 4700 miles on mine, but love everything on it.

I couldn't have a better office, it has taken me down many a road. I wouldn't know what to do if I had more power. California taught me to go the speed limit. I would like a better seat, at least a leather one. Maybe i'll find one soon. Knock on wood, my Baby keeps humming along

Yours is the high mileage king! I was not aware that any of our members had put that many miles on an ISB6. 7. Thanks for your post. It's good to hear that kind of report.

Would you post a list of the parts that have been replaced. I assume you have had to replace a Diesel Particulate Filter. Anything else?

Yes, the DPF was an eye opener. But I do feel like it was a problem caused by un-updated flashes. Last week I replaced the left wheel bearing, but after 290k who can complain. Rotella Oil and filter get changed around 7500 +/-, fuel every 15k, and air filter @ 15k. I use Amsoil syn. in diff, transfer, & transmission. I put on Blisten shocks, and a set of airbags on the rear. I pull a 28' gooseneck, 95% of the time with around 10k load. Here's my list off the top of my head:

left side front wheel bearing

2 front pinion seals

u-joint driverside fnt axle

2 u-joints driveshaft rear both times

idler pulley

and a couple sets of tires.

I feel very lucky with my Baby, she likes to run around 1750rpm, seems to get the best fuel milage at around 68 - 73mph. Totally stock !!! This is my money maker so I don't drive the crap out of it, But that BMW found out today found out today just what a Ram could do... .

I dont beleive you have that kind of mileage or no problems, can you post a picture of your truck with the mileage showing and the vin, sure you got the milage right, when did you take delivery, you must have driven 250 miles every day to rack up that kind of mileage?? Are you HB in disquise???

TulsaOkie,

Your experience with your new ISB6. 7 is not at all surprising to me, it is typical of all Dodge Rams w/Cummins engines when adult-driven by someone who services his truck regularly and doesn't abuse it. I had similar experience with my two previous Rams, an '01 and an '06 and fully expect to have the same satisfactory results from my current truck.

Ignore the above poster. He is the TDR whiner who can apparently destroy a fine new truck in record time and blame the manufacturer and dealers for his actions.

It would probably be a good idea to replace the other sealed front hub assembly soon. They are wear items that can't be cleaned and repacked. I replaced both front hub assemblies on each of my previous Rams at around 220k miles when they began to show signs of wear. If you allow one to fail the result can be very damaging and expensive to repair.

Oh I understand; Whiterancher04 has had some problems with his truck, but to almost call me a liar. I have whupped some butt for alot less. I have no problems sending ya pics, cause I am proud of my truck. Granted it could fall apart tomorrow but I bet it won't. Bought the truck 6-18-07, tulsa,ok. I'm a hotshot driver, miles mean money so why leave it in park. I've ran that truck for 40 hours straight, 2800 miles and never stopped except to fuel, drop my load, and headed home (deer season). My 05 died with 278k on it, K&N filter killed it. ( never again ). From my reading Whiterancher04 lives down in south Texas, if you have some good hunting land I'll be happy to drive down that way in exchange for some hunting and let you check out my baby. My secert has been maintence and you have to rub the dash and talk to it, just like the wife. Have gun and will travel just let me know... . I'm easy :) but not cheap :D

The two posts above tell us a lot about the character and maturity of the two posters.

TulsaOkie accepted the childish insults thrown at him by white ranch with good cheer and reached out to white ranch with friendly comments about finagling an invitation to white ranch's "ranch" for a hunting trip.

White Ranch, still behaving like the petulant adolescent he is ignored the friendly gesture by TulsaOkie and continued his childish and ridiculous demand for proof of TulsaOkie's truck and mileage.

Tulsa Okie, you're an okay guy. If you're ever hauling a load on US Hwy 82 east of Lubbock I'd like to meet you and buy you lunch or supper.

White Ranch, well, forget it. .

Harvey, now be careful I never pass up a free meal offered. And hwy 82 is one of my favorite roads to travel... NOW on the other issue, BET being the key word... name the bounty and your have any proof that you need. I can back up my claims, heck by the time I get home this weekend it'll be 291k..... What ever happened to a gentlemans wager... .

Oh, besides everything else,,,how about that huntin trip. It's my passion and I'm always ready to go. I would even be willing to be nice. Maybe my luck could rub off and I could lay hands on your dash.

My truck is a road king the more i push it the better it likes it ,dont have that high mileage but it does all that reqested about 2100 rpms seems to be a sweet spot at about 75 to 80 mph. mpg increases as it stretches out.

WhiteRanch, my dad always told me "it is better to keep your mouth shut and let people think you are an idiot than to open your mouth and remove all doubt" words of wisdom to live by.
