Cummins Powermaster

Was there a Diesel Jeep Wagoneer

comes from the cummins website:

The next re-powering project will be a Brown Hoist Crane, which is currently powered by a Cummins HR-6, used since 1958. By the time this engine is retired, it will have given over 40 years and 80,000 hours of service, requiring only three rebuilds. This fall, BC Rail will replace the HR-6 with a new LT10C-250 horsepower engine. The HR-6 will then be sent to Cummins British Columbia where it will be restored and placed on display along with other Cummins historical engines.

other interesting info from holset:

The conventional turbocharger bearing system comprising of two fully floating ring bearings lubricated by the main engine oil system has been very successful. It provides excellent damping against rotor motion, is tolerant of contaminants in the lubrication oil, and is economic to manufacture. New materials and bearing technologies are becoming available and offer opportunities to reduce noise, improve efficiency and increase durability. Ball bearings and air bearings are likely to be used on some applications in the future.
