Why do Forum posts vary in size/look??

[24V-DSL]

Rarely, some posts can't be viewed/read without using the scroll bar to move text left and right.

Why does this happen, and is there a fix? I like to print some posts for my file, and they print just like they look on the screen, and therefore some words are left out.

I've obviously hung myself out here if the answer is something any novice computer user should know. #ad

If someone includes something in their post like a picture that won't fit in the window then the scroll bar appears.

Then how come SmokinJoes post in the 24V, drive train post that starts out" Premium Fuel", with no pics, has the scroll bar?

As well as lines in signatures that haven't been edited to fit the screen. They don't automatically word wrap.

I like to save some posts also.
What I do (may not be for everyone) I save as text which goes to wordpad. I clik on workpad and select all and right mouse click copy. Then I go in to word and right click paste. I edit out all the unwanted goodies.
It does not show all the different colors etc but works for verbage. Saving as it looks on the post uses up a lot of red ink (which I run out of first. ) Could go into the print and select grayscale. So much for my wanderings.
I TOO do not care to scroll back and forth to read the post.

I take it a step further and email the person who caused it. Every time the person didn't know they caused it and was happy to fix it. Using lines in the signature is a common cause.

I may be wrong, (or right), but I thought that when you typed and hit the return key at the end of this small window to post in the words would come out only one half screen wide. I thought that I had an answer for the wide view, but... ... ... . now I don't remember what I was thinking of????????

24V-DSL, if you change the screen display properties of you computer to a higher pixel, the type will come out smaller and everything fits on the screen. I usually do this before gettin' on to TDR.
