Hey guys, I have a 1995 CTD and it is loaded with a 55 industrial injection turbo, #6 plate, 4" exhuast, and a BHAF. When I nail it, at about 2,200/2,250 rpm it starts to miss even under the load of the truck. Its worse in 2nd and 3rd gear than it is in 4th and 5th. But, it also misses with no load and when its cold it will miss. I'm thinking that maybe its the injectors... But I thought it possibly could be the lift pump too. So if you would please, give me your input on how to figure out which it is or if its something else. I've also stretched the spring in the banjo fitting on the injector pump. So I know thats not it. Any thoughts are appreciated. THANKS

WELL, things in a diesel that can cause that are basically:

1. Poor compression on the missing cylinder.

2. Lack of fuel on the missing cylinder - either injector or pump problem. Also possible plugged or other obstruction in line from pump to injector.

3. Worn camshaft lobe or related valvetrain problem.

As long as a diesel has compression, fuel and proper timing, it HAS to run! :-laf

Proper Timing... . ? too much fuel can advance... .

Gary's right. On the valve train, do not forget to check for broken valve springs. They will cause a miss fire that disappears then reappears.
