Why doesn't my 2017 3500 have upper overload springs? o_OJust checked another 4th gen out and it did.

The 3500 has two standard springs, the 6101 on all DRW 2003-18 the DRW has the overload Springs. The SRW has 6102 2013-18, the 6102 leafs are reinforce arch and are 1mm thicker Per leaf than the 6101 spring, thats why the 3500 SRW is 2.33"higher form Ground to tail-gate. the 6102 is much stronger than the 6101. Just add Air Bags to the SRW run 8-12 PSI and you have the GVW of the 6101 and Overloads W/O the harsh banging the 6101+overloads has.

NIsaacs, May be correct to get the 6101+overloads on SRW, I have NOT checked to see if that options now exists. It did NOT when I order My 13&14, it went right to kicking out the SRW and required DRW. It may have changed Now and you can get the 6101+ Overloads on SRW.

The DRW is standard height , the SRW is 2.33" higher, Some of our trailers I needed to make 1.75 Axle brackets to add the additional lift to make the trailers pull true level to PIN/Hitch (GN) It was a PIR to lift all those trailers and add the Brackets.

there is a reason DRW trucks can carry more weight than SRW.
as far as weight rating goes, or GVW, while all of us can modify our trucks you can't modify the GVWR, that was published by the factory.

Actually you can, but really you don't need to as I am not aware of any state that enforces GVWR as a weight limit. AFIK they all look at tire ratings, and sometimes axle ratings, along with registered weight for legal weight. GVWR is sometimes used for registration and emissions purposes thou.
