Why doesn't my profile picture show

I posted a picture to my profile picture, when i look it up it shows there but not on my posts, what am i missing

Your profile picture does just show on your profile. We do not have avatars here on the site (the ones that would show under your username in posts). We removed avatars several years back because of server loads at the time. We found after we removed them that they were using a significant amount of bandwidth. We also have a lot of users still using dial up connection and avatars slow the page load down significantly. For both of those reasons we decided to leave them off from then on.
