Best use for hydrogen? Mix it with natural gas in a GTL process and make synthetic diesel. Wa-la, infrastructure and fuel storage problems solved, useable in current vehicles without modification, no need to wait 20 years (or 30 or 40 or 50) for fuel cells cheap enough to put in a car (and from what I hear from people in the fuel cell industry, they never will be).
