I've had American Racing Baja's on my 2500 for 2 years now. I'm real happy with the wheels, the problem is the center cap. I paid quite a bit extra for the "American Racing" center caps. However, after 2 years the decal in the center of the cap is peeling off, and American Racing won't warranty them. I can buy new center caps, or buy the decals themselves, but that seems kind of cheap to me. You'd like to think if the decal peeled off, they'd at least give you new decals under warranty. What kind of advertisment is that running around with a decal in the center cap that reads "Amer R eing"?

I have the American Racing Torque Thrust IIs on my car. American Racing is engraved into the centercaps on those. I just got them so maybe they changed the way they do things. They weren't colored though so I took a sharpy marker and colored the emblem in. The wheels don't have more than 10 miles on them for now. . marker is still holding strong!!

Did you try sealaing the edges with clear coat or clear nail polish. It works well for our stickers on locomotives.

When I bought my American Racing Chrome Atlas wheels I upgraded to the Stainless Steel hubs, I don't want anything that rusts. They seem to be holding up very well.

EMD you big mouth!!

EMD, you weren't supposed to tell everyone you used nail polish on your locomotive!! The next thing you'll be revealing is that the dynamic brake uses hair spray :D :p

Cheers!!

I with you

I did not try to get them replaced yet but my A/R decals are starting to peel. Mine are also about 2 years old. I think my next set will be thompson centers. $600 + for a set you would think they would support them better than that. :(

See Ya

I couldn't get anyone at American Racing's headquarters on the phone, so I emailed them a link to this posting. Probably won't do a thing, but...

Well, I didn't think too much of American Racing after going through more than 10 wheels trying to find ANY that ran true. Every wheel was out more than a half inch. The wheel dealer sent all of them back, and ordered a set of Eagle wheels. Zero problem with these. I am using the AR stainless center caps to avoid the problem you're having.
