My deepest condolences for your loss, especially for such a needless and careless act.

I learned to drive at my TX high school in 1973 as a paid course. We were actually taught the rules of the road, which included the proper way to stop at a stop sign, which included coming to a complete stop ensuring to keep the cross walk clear, look both ways turning your head, not just using peripheral vision, and then proceed carefully while still checking fir traffic.

I'm extremely bothered to see these so called "New York" stops everyday, where no stop actually occurs and so sad to see/hear the terrible results on the daily news and your story.

God Bless you and your Family in this terrible time.

Ron

So sorry. Between my father, driver's ed and training it was instilled in me to make a complete stop and always look in all directions. Same deal for stoplights. I was taught to never take the light for granted. No signal delays back then either. I'm in San Diego and never see the traffic division citing anyone. As a result I see all kinds of infractions going unpunished. You'll meet again.
