why is it that as soon as a person buys a powerstroke that they loose at least 100 iq points? some this even puts into the negatives!!!! i cant even count how many i just argue stupid facts that are set in stone. why is this? anyone else see this? man i just had to get this off my chest. as a dealer how do you sell things to a psd owner? thier ideas are perfect and wont change! i wont sell sompthing that will smoke some stock parts without upgrades, but it never fails a powerstroke "diesel genius" wants a big bad chip and thinks he knows the rest, what the he!! is going on with these people? makes me want to rip the dba up and quit. whew!!, it was that or go postal!!!!

And Ill admit The OLD dodges were not dearly loved in my family ... Just resently I learned about " THE DUDE " and the " LITTLE RED EXPRESS " with this new MOPAR truck history Im starting to convince myself that maybe they were not that bad after all.

THink about it if it wasnt for those 2 motors DoDGE would be third rate none the less.

I love the Cummins and As miles get up on my truck 40,000 so far I notice that the quallity of some interior and exterior parts SHould BE alot better than what they are.



I Think the PAINT SUCKS THE MOST a dust partical will Scratch the paint down to the primer



But No Trucks are perfect Every model of vehilcal has its set backs fortunatly our Trucks rewards greatly over rides the set backs



As For A Ford I hate the exterior ,interior , and motor other than that its an OK truck with me.

thats the kind of stuff im talking about, last night i argued with my cousin for over an hour and couldnt get him to budge off the idea that a pyro should be in front of the turbo, and this was for a wrecker truck, he said " well it will at least give you a ball park figure, better than nothing" i tried to tell him that for a wrecker pulling heavy with a edge set on 100 hp that it was safer to run pre turbo, but wont look at the idea until the cut rate hack job of a diesel shop that he works at will see it too. all kinds of stuff like that. this is from the same shop I personally watched tear out a lift pump, change every line between the pumps and almost had the injection pump off because it wouldnt start, i told them that a line was broke between the gas tank and they wouldnt belive me, until i showed the owner of the company the break myself after all the psd workers had left. man where do these people get thier education from? not saying all psd owners are boners, but they do seem to congrate in masses.

My cuz told me by removeing the silencer ring my turbo My fins would fall out !!



He doesnt under stand HUFFing the turbo either he says its the waste gate opening ... ... ... ... ... even tho its plugged ... . (thats smart). .



And ofcouse every PSD owner feals free to think there a mechaic and say Dodge tranys are junk ... . Like they even have a clue...



I always say well when you put a choked down semi motor in a truck and people unchoke it then things break Period.



I swear Give me a FORD with a 1St gen Cummins turned up and I'll have that trany smoked in a day.

I like the comments about our beloved motors being junk. HOW IN THE HE** can they say that when its a proven motor! coem on yeah they have there faults but IMO nothing will compair to the 1st gen cummins motor for longevity! the 24V is ok but just the injector pump/ lift pump probs and just the fact that they have only been in for 7 yrs and everyone is reaching the higher numbers. Im still interested in how the 03+ motors will do come 200,000+ miles.

SHOW me a percentage graph of PSD's compaired to the Cummins in which lasts longer!! And Ill not say a word again about the psd's but until such time CUMMINS is #1



off the subject but I enjoy how the duramax guys are kinda left in the dust compaired to the psd/cummins

if I could get a Ford truck w/ a Cummins in it, I wouldn't own a Dodge...

yes ian it will be going in a couple of weeks, and even my 98 will be a runner with the new transmission parts going in it Oo. it will have a "custom" plate and maybe some gov springs.



forrest, you need to council the rest of the psd lovers, they hear obout one good thing and never look at the bad stuff with thier trucks. i even had one psd "mechanic" tell me that his dad took his chip out of his 95 stacked it with one from a 2002 and put it on his 03 common rail, said he could make my truck run better than me.



and i agree with the nod and say thats cool, its even better than counting slow. oh well at least theres one sane group still out there (the gltdr :-laf )



going to go show my cousin up on a dyno next weekend, show him my "old beater with 250,000 will still outrun that $45000 powerchoke.



ian how far are you from napolean? thats the dyno i use if your not busy ya should come.

How exactly are the Dmax guys left behind the PSD/CTD guys?



I do not know of a single CTD or PSD that has rolled 550RWHP on the dyno with just a single box (no injectors, stock turbo).



Sorry fella, the Dmax is a proven engine and I wouldn't hesitate to own one.



Now, a 6. oh. no is a totally different story. I'd probably drive a 7. 3 if someone gave it to me, as it too is a proven motor.



Blind loyalist, I am not. Do I think Cummins is the best motor... yep! Do I really like the looks of the new Mega Cab... eh... it's gonna have to grow on me. Could you give me a 6. 0 PSD?... not a chance!

how long has the duramax been around??? they arnt a proven motor (for longevity WITH strength). they are a nice motor but for the history of the engine face it GM has lacked in that position 6. 2... . 6. 5. . now duramax I was relating the motors with no mods straight stock and as for the PSD the 7. 3 diesels.



Granted gm is comming a long way from where they started but they just dont have the history or brand recgonition (sp) that the cummins motor has



go in order of motors

6. 2 (1982-92) vs 5. 9(1989-98) non intercooled / intercooled cummins comes out ahead

even if you throw the 6. 5 in there the motor goes what 180xxx miles before rebuld when the 5. 9's are pushing 200-300,000+ miles?



24V vs duramax the milage numbers arnt up there yet



24V common rail vs the 605ftlb d-max again nobody knows as of yet



Im not out to bash any D-max guys im just stating the obvious

my dads friend had an 01 gmc with the duramax, the injectors went and the heads cracked at 60,000 miles... i thought that was kind of interesting, heads on a diesel gone at 60K, dont get me wrong i do like the duramax but heads shouldnt be blowing at 60 thousand in my opinon

ian, i belive the overhaul time is closer to 500,000, thats what cummins said. i had a friend try and buy rod bearings for his 95 with 260,000 miles on it and they started laughing at him on the phone, told him its not nessary, and it wasnt, looked the same. and i will try and get a hold of you when we go down to the dyno, so far we got one 300+ hp powerstroke, a well and above that duramax (stacked boxes and suncoast) and my old farm truck with some final touches ( cut plate gov springs and hopefully water/meth) maybe a few more trucks. it will be on a saturday morning if your intrested, i think that i can get the guy to give me a good deal on the runs to, normal is $62 for 3 runs but hes a great guy and will probably do a lot more runs and for cheaper.



my mentaly challenged cousin was bragging about a 12. 89 stroker tonight.....

until i ruined his dreams and showed him maddogs truck, 10. 59
