You're not providing the type of information anyone would need to help you.
If you recently bought a high mileage '03 with a transmission that failed before you got it home and you're seeing high oil consumption I'll offer the guess that you bought a truck that had been neglected, abused, has been previously modified, or some combination of the three.
Worn piston rings, leaking valve guide seals or valve guides, are typical causes.
Many things can contribute to that situation including inadequate maintenance, use of cheap oil or oil of the wrong grades, cheap non-approved oil filters, an aftermarket air filter that allowed dirt and grit intrusion, or magic black boxes that modified fueling, fuel timing, etc.
If I had only one guess I would guess a previous owner was using an aftermarket air filter that poorly filtered incoming air.
An engine rebuild may be in your future.
