One of the things that drew me to the TDR was the apparent camaraderie. I was under the impression that the TDR always had a national rally every year, but I've noticed that nothing has been said of one in a couple of years. Things like Diesel Thunder are great but we should still have one event that differentiates us from the Ferds and Chebbies.

What gives?

did TDR ever have a meet/greet annual party at teh cummins plant in indiana? (where was teh pic taken of all the trucks on one of the magazines?)

That doesn't sound like a bad idea. During the Drags at IRP? Its only about 45 min to a hour from Columbus. But that might take away from the drags & pulling event though. Just if everyone is going to be in Indy, might be an idea? and the plant is easy to get to. maybe 10 min off I-65.

The plant is literally next to I65.

The address for CMEP is I-65&SR58, Columbus.

Exit 64 on the south east side off of I65.

Yeah, TDR was there 2 times.

TDR Rallies

Hello to all! The TDR would love to do another national-type event. It has been two years, and it would be great to see old friends.

Our plan for 2004 was to do a Turbo Tech 2004 in conjunction with all of the race stuff at Thunder in Muncie (which was hoping to be in Indianapolis). TiM didn't get the Indy track, and there was too much distance from Columbus to Muncie, so an event for 2004 could not be arranged.

For 2005, TiM organizer, Eric McBride, was successful in securing the Indy track. He got the date secured last fall (June 25 - 26). Eric immediately called as we wanted to coordinate a Turbo Tech 2005 at Columbus to coincide with TiM in Indy. Two events, great locations, fun attractions, diverse crowds: it could have been a great show. Unfortunately, the Cummins CERAland Park and the Columbus Holiday Inn were already booked for this 2005. The July 4th weekend officially starts (in the Cummins area, at least) the same weekend as the TiM. So, CERAland was/is already booked for Cummins employees. The Holiday Inn had some function as well (sorry, I cannot recall exactly what it was). So, an event for this year was not planned.

We are planning for TiM (Indy location) to be a huge success as the 2006 calendar may be more cooperative with us. Our plan is to plan our TDR National Rally in conjunction with 2006 TiM. Final Note: TDR Nationals are not possible without financial support from the manufacturers. We've been fortunate in the past to provide a great show at nominal cost. We're hoping to repeat another good show in 2006.

I hope this update proves to be helpful. As the details become available, we'll keep you posted!

Thank you for all of your support of the TDR!!

Meanwhile, don't forget May Madness in Las Vegas, NV, May 4-7. This will be the eleventh straight year for the event; typically a couple hundred trucks attend. It's a little far from Tennessee, but who doesn't want a vacation in 'Vegas? :D
