Why occasional popup ads?

I find I occasionally get popup ads that will display on TDR pages, like THIS one:

#ad

When I right-click on the ad shown at the top of the page, and check "properties", I get this:

https://www.turbodieselregister.com/phpAdsNew/adview.php

How and why is this happening? It clearly does NOT come from a TDR advertiser, though the properties pointer clearly links it to the TDR?

Comment?

I have BOTH of those spyware programs running, as well as Zonealarm firewall - my curiosity is primarily related to what appears to be a clear link between that pop-up ad and the advertiser that will display if you click on the "properties" pointer I supplied in my lead post - could the pop-up be somehow riding piggyback on one of the advertisers ad image in the TDR header?

You definately have some sort of spyware on your machine causing that - it isn't coming from us or any of the TDR advertisers as we host all of their images. The best anti-spyware package I have found by far is http://www.spysweeper.com . They have a 30 day trial period I believe and after that you have to buy it. I used to use ad aware and spybot s&d - each would find some stuff that the other wouldn't. Spysweeper finds everything those two do plus others that they don't find.

The spyware that you have is looking for banner ad programs - adview.php is one and it's replacing that graphic with what it wants to show you.
