If you did not see this on ESPN2, here is why a 10 second truck or faster needs a good roll cage, and why the faster you go, the better cage you need. This is a video from the Dallas Pro Stock qualifying session, and Bruce Allen gets loose, and crosses over in front of Kenny Koretsky.

Amazing, it Bruce has hand abrasions, and Kenny got a bruised heart. Not as bad as it could have been.

That is what I thought. I was watching the Earnhart wreck, and did not even flinch. Then watch this, and there is no way either should have made it through it... .

I have seen alot of wrecks at the tracks over the years and you'd think there's no way that the driver could survive that Only to see the driver jump out- with little to minor injury if any at all. Oo. Gotta give credit to the safty rule spec makers- and the people we ALL love to hate- the enforcers- the tech inspectors. :-laf :{ :{

You forgot the "most important guy" the person that welded that cage and frame together. If you've looked closely at the vid, those parts surrounding Allen stayed together, if they hadn't the end result would not have been the same.
