do they let idiots sell vehicles? I posted on this a couple of weeks ago but I just couldn't pass this up. Yesterday I returned to the same dealership in So. Oregon, Lithia to be exact, that I had previously visited. I did, however, have a different salesperson, so I was hoping the experience would be better than the last. I asked him if they had any DRW 3500 HO's I could look at/test drive. He told me they didn't; however, they did have a SRW 3500 and asked me why I wanted a dually. After explaining to him that I was looking at getting a slide-in camper and wanted the extra GVWR, he still didn't seem to understand why I wanted the dually. During the test drive of a 2500 HO, I was attempting to explain to him the difference between the 2500, 3500 SRW and the 3500 DRW, with regards to GVWR. When we returned to the lot he grabbed a brochure and showed me the payload chart where it indicated the payload for 3500's. I told him I believed the numbers shown were for the DRW's and not the SRW's. He told me, and this is what floored me, "The dual wheels don't provide any additional payload capabilities, they're just for added stability. " That's all I had to hear. No arguments. Unfortunately, this guy will probably sell some unsuspecting customer the wrong vehicle.
