Rusted out roof on a 91 model

hey guy's had this prob since i got her. everytime i mash the go pedal it stay's in OD. unless i take it out myself. and if she do kick down it's into 2nd. . tried adjusting kickdown cable and that just made it stay in gear longer and wouldent shift at all... so what is it and how can i fix it??????

Just a thought, but have you checked your TPS to see if its reading and performing properly. TPS=Throttle Position Sensor.

Definetely sounds like a TPS that is adjusted too low. Should be at 1 volt at idle. Have gone as high as 1. 2 volts on trucks that are loaded heavy most of the time to delay upshift into OD. Adjust to your preference.
