The WI regulations are pretty loose. In fact they aren't enforced until we smell something other than cheese coming accross the lake. :D

Diesels are exempt from emissions testing for now. Not all of the state has emissions testing for gassers even, just the crowded areas.

Ready for a move to WI Matt?

Are you ready for a move to Wisconsin Matt? You would fit right in with our gang of FREAKSOo. Oo. So far, the counties near Lake Michigan require gasoline vehicles go through an emission test, but nothing for diesels yet. :D

Thanks `yall (is that how you spell it? :) )...

I'm not planning a move - I just wanted to know the truth. I have heard rumors about the laws out that way..... now I know for sure.

Crowded areas? Like Madison, for example.....

The last time I was out there..... I had custard at Culver's and cheese curds. What else do I need to do?

Thanks,

Matt

Emission testing is required (along with expensive fuel) in Milwaukee and the surrounding areas. But I don't think they check diesels. The fox valley area (Appleton, Neenah, Oshkosh, Green Bay) is being considered for emission testing, probably just for gasoline vehicles. Glad my '94 was born in December of '93!!

Matt, There are a few things to be concerned about in the Madison area. 1) No parking-especially during Badger games. 2) Year round road destruction. 3) One-Way roads that led to nowhere. 4) Nice sounding acoustics off buildings downtown. 5)Not enough BEER & BRATS. 6) Friday Nite Fish Frys. 7) Still being able to say "The Pledge of Allegiance". 8) Liberal Socialist politicians.

I'm used to the roads and the weather.....

Beer and Brats? I think I could stock up on those in advance... .

Just doin' some research... ... :)

Matt

Must be more specific.

Where, exactly, are you thinking of moving to? If you can help it, stay away from the communist localities like Madison, Milwaukee, LaCrosse. There are lots of places to live that are much nicer than those cesspools. And the best part is, not many know that there are places other than Madison and Milwaukee in this state. Sort of like the entire state of California being comprised entirely of LosAngeles, San Francisco, and to a lesser degree Sacramento, to draw a parallel comparison.

Did we answer your question?

Madison would be the place, if it were to ever happen. Or somewhere within a reasonable commute.

So if the greater Madison area is BOMB friendly - that's one more reason for me to like the area.
