Is there a width difference in a dually and a dually cab and chassis for 2001-2002. Does anyone know the measurements outside of tire to outside of tire on a cab and chassis. The duallys measure 95". Wanting a flatbed truck and the availability of them in this area is almost none. Most are base trucks. I was wanting more options and was thinking about putting a flatbed on a dually. Just don't want the bed to stick out too far and look bad.

I'm sorry I can't help you with the measurements, but isn't the frame another difference? Doesn't the cab/chassis have a straight-rail frame in the rear (i. e. , no kick-up over the rear axle)? This will make a difference when looking for or fabricating a flatbed.

Yes the frame rails are different, but I am not that worried about that because I am having friend who is a fabricator to special build my bed.

I don't know if this still applies, but it used to be that on a true cab/chassis, the OUTER dual lined up with the front wheel.

On a dually, the INNER dual lined up with the front wheel.

As always, your mileage may vary.

Thanks for the replies. I was thinking there was around a 4 inch difference. This will make for a little extra space to be filled in by stacks. :p
