Wieght of 3.9 Ltr

Sorry if this has been covered, I did a search but couldn't get the search to work and find what I wanted...



How much does the 3. 9ltr weigh? Anyone have diagrams or know of a web site that has them for wiring one up after its installed, this will be going into a jeep.

3.9 wieght

It comes in close to 770lbs. this is dry, but includes the skid. I would guess the skid comes in about 70-100 lbs. hope that helps.

... . just curious.



While you are at it... . what does a Detroit Diesel 4-53 and 6V-53 weigh?



Information on engine size/weight is sorta hard to come by... .

The 6B5. 9 comes in at about 1000lbs w/ the skid. so I'm guessing around 900lbs, give or take. I work for Cummins, so I don't have the foggiest idea what the drip-troit diesles wiegh...

Yeah, they're loud/obnoxious and not very efficient... . but the big rigs pulling series is using quite a bit of them. I am hearing through the grapevine that a lot of the current Detroit Diesel crowd is switching back to the big old I6 engines... .



This is good news for anyone looking to buy a used race engine from a big rig puller... .

P. S. The 6CT 8. 3L is about 1800#, right? And the 855cid series engines (NTC) are around 2200#... . ??
