2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Wierd Heat/Defrost Problem

Friend has 97 with following problem:

switch on floor position - 160 degree air @ floor level and outside temp air coming out defrost.

switch on vent - 120 degree air

switch on defrost - 100 degree air

He just had heater core and condenser replaced this summer. I advised him of divertor door possibly being plugged and about actuator not functioning properly. Any other thoughts? Vacumn is OK.

That would be my guess. Have you pulled a vac. hose off to see if it is wet from oil in the line, instead of being dry? If there is, it may have damaged the/a diaphram that controls the door.

Found a vacumn hose disconnected at firewall. Voila!
