Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Wierd problem

I have a 95 2500 with auto trans lately it has been acting wierd, yesterday after driving a few miles I went to restart the motor the check engine light flashed the motor started right up as allways but it had no tach, overdrive, no wait to start or water in fuel light also the amp guage seems lower than normal. It has done this once before a couple of months ago and it seems to be heat related because everything is fine this morning, has anyone run into this before?
