Well the journey began yesterday. Got them and everything else up the road outside of Creede, trailer and all (which took a bit of doing that last couple miles was certainly not made for a trailer but nonetheless we got er done. Colorado trail from about Creede to just past Leadville, 230 miles, 23 days. Wife getting older (67) and no longer feels like carrying 50 lbs of her own stuff much less adding to it because grandson can't carry his full share (he is 8) so Llamas become the answer. We got them loaded up and Wife, TJ (grandson) , daughter and myself started up the hill about 1300 feet elevation gain (pics are at 11950 elevation) in just over a mile to where the trail we unloaded on intersects with the Colorado trail. Wife has hiked and backpacked the Colorado trail which goes from Denver to Durango several times end to end 500ish miles, the John Muir trail in Cali 220 miles as well as the Camino D Santiago in Spain over 500 miles among countless other much shorter trails. Couldn't be prouder at the moment and had to share.
Stopped for a quick bite to eat before they took off wife and I with Tomas and Carlos who is showing his rear
Daughter, TJ and Tomas the Llama hamming it for a pic
TJ hammin with Tomas
Just one more of them getting ready to head out on their own
