The wife truck is broke down and I'm 165 miles away and can't leave work. Here it is . Some guy followed her into the mall, said she was leaving a trail of diesel behind her. The same guy looked at it and couldn't find the leak. She called her cousin, he tought the leak was coming from the water seperator drain. He played with that and it still didn't help the leak. Another guy looked at it and thought the leak was coming from higher up. I replaced the return hose to the fuel tank last summer. Any Ideas????????

I'd see if someone could check the fuel return line clamps and the metal sections for cracks. Although if it's leaving a trail of fuel, I'm suprised it's still running or cranking.

The heater element in the filter housing could have shorted and melted a hole in the housing?

Good luck, lots of possibilities here.

I had the same problem last year. It was the WIF/Drain valve on bottom of filter. Never could get it to stop leaking, had to replace it. I've got a spare in my tool box for future problems.
