Wife slipped something in my Transmission!

Just got a phone call from my wife, and I get the "your truck made a funny sound today" line from her. Oh yeah I say. Well this is what happened. She was passing someone and had the O/D button off. When she got past him, stayed on the diesel and pushed the O/D on. The TC unlocked then when it went into Lock-up she said it slipped. I am amazed, she said my truck made a funny noise and sounded like it was slipping. VERY observant for her. So anyways my biggest concern is are my overdrive clutch packs or whatever they are all right? Was that just a simple case of slipping the TC? Not a big deal if it was just the TC, because I have a DTT on order. After all this I mention to her that you do not keep your foot into it when locked up in O/D or when it is going into O/D. Thought I taught her that one in my driving lessons for my truck!

That noise, sort of a screech, was probably your TC clutch. The other clutches usually don't make any noise when they slip. The noise doesn't always mean it's going bad, it resonates right through the TC cover as it slips. Mine started making that noise not long before I had it replaced but only when towing a heavy load. It was bad.

So no real cause for concerne yet. I like what I hear so far... ...

Darn, I wanted to find out what she slipped INTO it and how you found out. I was thinking she was jealous of your truck and slipped something into it to eliminate the competition.

Sabotage

I was thinking more along the lines of an Ex-wife trying to sabotage the truck. I have an Ex-GF that would probably love to do that to me if she could find me. Hope it ain't serious whatever it is.

Sometimes I think she feels like doing something like that... . She is serious when she thinks I like my truck more than her! HMMMM... I spend more money on presents for my truck, I spend ALOT of time on the TDR, and whenever she asks me what I am thinking about... . you guessed it my truck. Maybe she did slip something into it!
