they should fit, but you may have to turn the outside edge of the drums down a 1/4 inch or so,,, I had to turn down the drums on my 97 to put the 00-02 alloy wheel,,,,, never tried it with the steel though
I would like to get a set of 2000 8" wide alloys to put on my '96
Reading elsewhere it was mentioned that the drums of the later trucks are almost an inch narrower in diameter, but an inch wider... that would make me think that either they narrowed the rear end a bit to use the same offset wheels, or changed the offset.
However looking at the aftermarket, they list the exact same wheel size for any of those years of Dodge Ram trucks.
