Will 3rd Gen Alloy Wheels Fit A 1st Gen?

Does anybody know if the 17" alloy wheels off a 3rd gen Dodge will fit on a 1st gen Dodge w250?

Only with spacers/adapters. You need 1. 5" more clearance and a 9/16 wheel stud and lug nut for the center cap to attach to. I had some made at a local machine shop. SteveinAZ

I had a special deal on wheels and tires off a 2006 17" and wanted them bad, tried them physically and the back worked but the fronts rubbed, no way to work. Ended up buying wheels seperate so I could use the 17" tires.

The tire shop convinced me not to use spacers since I run loaded and heavy

90% of the time. He said spacers cause studs to break. R C

I know its not the alloys but I've been running steel 3rd gen without problems. They came with the truck. I don't have the center caps so there may have been a problem there.

I've pull heavy loads(backhoes at 18,000 lbs. ) with the spacers and have not had any problems. I have had the spacers off several times to check for cracks or any signs of loosening. so far so good. 3 years now and not a sign of anything cracking or coming loose. I even towed a 23' travel trailer 4000 miles in 3 weeks without an incident. Use good aluminum for the adapter like these... .
