Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Will 95-98 auto transmission fit behind 2001 24v?

I need to know if the automatics from a 95-98 12v will fit behind a 24v?



Reason being that if I can find a good deal on an 12v with auto then I might be able to swap with someone that has a 24v with 5 speed who wants the auto.

I think the '96-'98 would work since they are the 47RE. Earlier ones don't have the same electronic controls.

'96+ trannys should work. My '96 has a '99 transmission. Some of the electrical/cooler connections are different but the newer/older connectors will screw right in.
