'evening peoples -

I have a possibility of a dana 80 dually rear axle from a '96 Ram, and I have a couple quick q's:

- Are the leaf spring perches the same width apart from 1st to 2nd gen?

- Any dually - vs- reg rear issues?

- Will '96 parking brake work with '93 cables?

- Will the ABS sensor from '96 use same 'plug' as my '93?

- What size studs do the 2nd gen dually's have? (my D60 dually has 5/8 studs)

- Are the wheels hub-centered, lug shank-centered, or lug depression groove-centered?

- Yoke from '96 dually same as my '93 D70 single rear?

- Are '96 axles available with rear discs? Aftermarket (w/ park brake)?

- And the #1 question - just how strong are the D80's anyway???

Any help y'all have will be huge.

Gracias amigos,

- Sam

I don't see why not. I put a 95 dana 80 in my 89. It seems to work fine. You will have to adapt a little different emergency brake cable setup. The spring perches have the same spacing. I had to shorten the driveshaft an inch or two. thanks,John.

Sam. . backing plate to backing plate measurement is about 4" narrower on a dually than a single tire just an FYI if your not aware of it
