Will a 285/75/16 Spare Tire Fit?

I had a set of 285/75/16's installed on my 2001 4x2 truck the other day. I was going to get the same size for a spare tire, but I am not sure it will fit between the frame rails.

Does anyone know if the 285 will fit?

Yes a new 285 will fit in the spare. It is very tight and you may need to bump, pook, and prod it in order to get it all the way up into it's resting spot. I put a new 285 BFG AT on my spare when I went to that size.

Kevin's right... it fits, but you might have to convince it if it's new. I bought a used 285 BDG from the local junk yard and used it as my spare until I had to buy the next set and then rotated the best into the mix...
