Will a 3rd Gen topper fit on a 2nd Gen?

Is/has anyone used a topper for a 3rd Gen longbed on their 2nd Gen? I was looking at a topper made for a 3rd gen today and the dimensions are close, but it looks like there is a lot more curve in the front of the topper to match the new body style, versus a much straighter line on the 2nd gen. Also it looks like it is about an inch longer. I have a '98 longbed, and am having absolutely no luck finding a used high rise topper made for the 2nd gens. Anybody tried this?

It won't fit due to that big curve at the front of the bed. I found this out when I ordered the top for my 05 1500. The guy at Leonard ordered the wrong one.

I was afraid of that. Thanks for letting me know. Did the guy order a topper for a 2nd Gen?

Yep, that is what he did. While he was typing it into the computer he put in 95 instead of 05.
