I am just curious if the old school pull knob can be replaced with the twist switch. I have been thinking of doing this, but thought I would ask a few of y'all.

These kind of ideas are bad for you Chris,, Just don't do it. :)

Let me know how it turns out,, Shouldn't be more than just splicing a bunch of wires, and trying to figure out the dimmer switch,,

This is a mod I need to do as my light switch is getting stubborn to turn on the headlights.

I looked into doing this on my 98. 5... Its more trouble than its worth. You have to buy a new dash bezel, as the hole for the pre-99 switch is smaller than the one for the 99 and newer. SO after you put the new bezel on, you have to move your airbag switch to where your power outlet is now--since the 99+ bezel has a little cubbyhole there. Bottom line, is that its a PITA the convert, and thats why I decided against it.

Merrick, buy a new switch, and rewire your headlights to be controlled by a relay. This will make it so no current is being passed throught he switch. The current is what kills these switches. :D
