Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Will a non-AC belt work on a AC equipped truck(if you ignore the compressor)?

I'm posting a question for a fellow TDR member that doesn't have access to the website(poor guy:( ). He has a '95 with 286,000 miles and was wondering if he bought a serpentine belt for a truck that is not equipped with AC, would it work on his truck that is equipped with AC if he didn't run it over the AC pulley. The reason he's asking is that he's afraid the AC clutch could take a crap and either fail or lock up and having a non AC belt would allow him to still drive the truck. I guess you start thinking about stuff like that when you get high miles and are planning on taking a big trip :) . Thanks in advance

Thanks Bill

Thanks Bill, It looked like it would work when I checked it out. Just thought I'd get another opinion. Thanks again.

belts

non a/c belt works fine. my compressor locked up and had to do the switch to get home. fixed the compressor but still carry the other belt just encase. :D
