will a truck box from an '09 ram fit on an '08?

My box is rusting out. I can't seem to locate any boxes for an '08, but I have tracked down an '09. I thought this would be a direct fit - but the seller doesn't think so. Anyone out there know if a 8' bon fit on my '08?

It should, but to make sure I would check the Ram Body and Builder guide to be sure.

Thanks for the info Jim. The dimensions look identical... I guess I'll go out on a limb and see if it works. The drawings look similar. I don't think the box lines changes much! Harrison

Interesting as there wasn't a published re-design from 06-09 on cab's or boxes. The change came for MY2010.

Well maybe the box is a 2010 version... The owner seems adamant that it won't fit.. the specs were identical... Good to know tho!

The 1500 was updated a year (2009) before the HDs (2010)

Same for the 20's, ,makes aftermarket stuff interesting as they ask 1500? 1500 classic, 2500/3500, early / late...

If you have a picture of the box I would look at the tailgate and rear bumper, the 03-09 trucks had a slim tailgate and no indent in the bed for bumper clearance, 2010+ 1500 and HD have the thick tailgate and indent for the bumper. I know people who have put an 09 2500 bed on an 03 with no issues.

I will grab some photos... It would appear the box I was interested must of come off a 1500 '09. The lines look the '10 in the Ram Builder Guide. Grea document Jim.W thanks for the tip!
