Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) will any year ETC pump work on any year 24v truck?

Does anybody know if ETC pumps will switch from one year to another? I have a '99 and I have found a cheap '00 replacement. I know they always ask for the CPL number (I think it's CPL?) But what difference does that make? As long as it's not a ETH pump I don't think it should matter? Anyone know for sure?

ALL ETC pumps from 1998. 5 to 2002 should swap freely.
