Anybody know if the DSS, steering stabilizer brace, will work with the KORE sway bar and KORE sway bar drop down spacers? Would love to stiffen the steering up.
I helped a friend install a DSS stabilizer and he had the KORE drop blocks. Everything fit perfectly. As long as the KORE swaybar mounts in the same spot as the stock one I can't see it being a problem.
Thanks Jeff, I will do it since I am getting a new steering box tomarrow. I have the dynatrac manual hubs. Is there a specific reason you went with the EMS hubs?
Not sure on an 3rd generation, but on my 02 it needed some modification to work. DSS was designed to go under the sway bar, and with the 2 inch spacers from KORE there was lots of inteference between DSS and swaybar. additional spacers for a total of 2 and 7/16 made the DSS go under the swaybar and all was well
Pete
Korepilot, I went with the EMS hubs because they were over $400 cheaper for the same thing. I am very happy with the way they turned out.
The DSS that I installed on my truck and my friends with the drop blocks had the bearing mounting plate on top of the sway bar. In fact, I have 2" home made drop blocks on my truck now with no problems either. I will see if I can find a picture for you.
I have the Kore spacers and the Kore sway bar which has the stronger endlinks. I will order the DSS tomarrow and let you know if it fits. I think it should.
I'm not sure the DSS is going to fit. I've heard mixed results and I'm pretty sure it's going to interfere. What new steering box did you get? With your driving style, you might look at some of the PSC high end boxes.
I am getting a factory new box. Let me know what box i should get for next time around.
i will wait on the DSS then. I was hoping the drop blocks would lower the bar enough to allow the dss stabilizer plate to pass above the sway bar. Perhaps this is not possible. PVanderlugt , posted above, that another 7/16 of spacer made the dss work. But I suppose he is using the stock sway bar with the blocks which is not as thick as the Kore bar. I have heard the steering box moves alot. i would love to stiffen it up and give it some support.
I thought that PSC made stuff for 3rd gen Dodges, but I'm not seeing it on their website right now. Here's the link anyway. I'm going to check around and see what I can find out for you.
Korepilot, the brace will work with the bracket, at least on my 03 it does. Send me a PM and I will give you a trick to protect your steering box. I broke three of them before I learned.

I had to get rid of my Kore drop blocks when I installed the dss steering stabilizer. worked out really good and made the trucks steering feel way better. also did the adjustable track bar at the same time.
