just purchased this truck 99 quad cab lost transmission afew days later, pulled trans and overhauled with help of a friend added a 3 disk torque converter and a bd valve body while it was down I installed a 4" moto blue exh turbo back,s+b intake, diablo power puck 60 hp and triple gauge pod trans temp, egt and boost. would like to ad stage 3 injectors but not sure if stock lift pump will handle the flow or will I need to up grade been looking into options not decided on any particular one any info would be greatly appreciated. also a member of the dreaded "53"club. #@$%!

You really need a fuel pressure gauge on that truck. I would upgrade the fuel pump before adding any injectors..... atleast a holley blue pusher. They are good pumps & cheap upgrade.

I second that. A fuel pressure gauge is cheap compared to a VP44.

If the OEM pump is in good working order it will be enough pump..... But until a pressure gauge is hooked up to evrify its health its anyone guess. The OEM LP is very unreliable. There are several good alternatives that have proven to be reliable with good life expectancy.

as you can see from my mods im still running a stock lift pump, but thats about the only part in the system thats still stock. I idle at 14 and never drop below 12 at wot. The draw straw was what made the diff in the pressure drop not being as large when on the skinny pedal. As soon as money provides i will be going fass or airdog, not so much for the pump as i want the 3 micron filtering.

most of the gauges for fuel pressure that i have seen or used on other applications have been unrealiable and bounce around quite a bit so i have shyed away from purchasing another but for now I am installing a low pressure light set to come on around 5 pounds. went to my local diesel performace shop and set up to have a dyno run before i do the injectors still deciding on what ones to go with its between the 110hp and the 130hp leaning toward the 110's since i have stock turbo and don't know when or if i will up grade turbo

At least move the stock pump to the frame rail and get a gauge. My mechanical gauge does not bounce around. It is a Di Pricol with isolator. Has work great.

I picked up a couple lbs at idle and about 5lbs at WOT by moving the pump, and I already had Geno's bango's.

BTW, I used Geno's kit to relocate my pump.

I am running Mach 4's and all I have is a stock pump down by the tank with -6an lines. I can pull my press down to about 6 but it recovers quickly. Still on my orig VP44 and truck runs good. I am going to add a system from Glacier Diesel this summer, just for piece of mind.
