looks like my vp44 pump is going south. i have been setting the p1689 code. i have been having a lot of stumbling lately even after i changed the lift pump (my 3rd) and filter this past weekend. where should i buy the new pump at?? my local mechanic has a stadyne (sp) re-built lined up. estimating $1800 for complete install. has anyone tried the blue chip diesel re-built vp44?? looks like they have a new housing and brass insert and newer computer. any thoughts on this pump??

I found a Authorized Bosch dealer in New Hampshire approx $1150. reman. this included new pump housing and new board. i gave them a credit card today for 1. not affiliated with them in any way... call em for yourself.

Mine is getting one in the morning, VP and the LP both getting done for $1900. Richard Biby is the shop thats doing it. Great way to get back into the cummins world. . just got the truck monday

Mine has a slight and occasional stumble at an idle and has been doing it for 6k miles now... :{ I just checked and I have the 1689 showing up



Truck only has 43k on it, but I think the Comp box has killed the warranty :{
