will the avatar option be revived ever?

i remember when browsing before i became a member that there were avatars. . now there are none. . will that feature be turned back on ever?

Not as far as showing it in the forums it won't. Avatars are still out there you just have to someones profile to see it. When we removed the Avatar's the bandwidth used by the boards was reduced by 20%, it was decided that the money that would be spent on that bandwidth was better spent elsewhere by giving more features, etc instead of on avatars that were only a cosmetic feature. In addition we got many emails from users on dial up connections that they appreciated them being gone because of how much faster pages loaded.
