http://www.mhtwheels.com/wheel.cfm?brand=117&cat=118 I really like these wheels. I would like to put Nittos LT325/60R18 33. 4" O. D on them. I have a stock set up now but do have a front leveling kit I could put on. The confusing part is the specs. 8. 5" rim +10 offset 5. 1/8 backspace. It seems as if they are similar to others that guys on here have used. Will probably stick out a bit but can't figure how much. Let me know what you guys think. !!

Looking at the 18x8. 5 wheel, it has a 5. 14" backspacing which equals about 5 and 1/8". I assume ET means offset? Not sure what that stands for, but it doesn't add up with the 5. 14" backspace. If you take 5. 14 away from the inside of the wheel, it leaves the mounting surface with a positive offset of 17mm. I'm thinking the ET column of that chart is something other than offset.

The stock offset is +20mm I believe and the wheel is 8" wide.

I think you would be fine with this wheel. You could probably even get away with the 9" wheel which would make your tires a little wider too.

It's unusual to see a manufacturer make a wheel that is only 1/2" difference in width with all other specs remaining the same.

You can compare it toKore's Walker Evans Wheel which has a 5" offset which is less than your 5. 14 making their wheel stick out more than yours if they have the same wheel width of 8. 5". The width is not listed on the site though. The Kore/Weld wheel was an 8. 5" wheel also. I would assume that they are pretty close to that.

Rim Markings

Wheels are made with markings, usually on the rim, the meanings of some of which are fairly obvious, some less so. Consider a wheel marked "15x7J ET38. " We should all know that 15 is the diameter, in inches, of the surface the tire's bead rests on, while 7 is the width, or the distance between the flanges that support the bead as air pressure forces it outward along the axis of the spindle. The J is not obvious, but is simple once you know: It simply refers to the shape of that flange, easier to understand if you imagine a steel wheel on which the lip is rolled over like a J. "ET" may or may not be present. It is an abbreviation of einpress tief, German that translates literally as "pushed in depth," or offset. The 38 is the offset measured in mm.

http://www.rsracing.com/tech-wheel.html#backspace

offset is difference between the wheel backspace to the wheel centerline.

In short, yes those wheels will fit your truck, and they will stick out a slight amount compared to stock. The 9" wide wheel would stick out a bit more. And boy howdy are those 10" wide wheels gonna stick out a ton. Flares please!!!

JayWm,

The 38 is the offset measured in mm.

Thanks for the info on wheel markings. I had never heard that before.

Do you have any idea of how you get 38mm with a backspace of 5. 14"??

I get +17 when I drew out the width of the wheel, the backspace, and where that ends up relative to centerline. 38 seems way off to me.

Thanks for all the info guys I got some prices and looks like I will be ordering on Mon. As for the offset their website lists it as a +10mm backspace which doesn't seem close to any of your #'s but I still think I am going to get them paired up with the Terra Grapplers. Oo.
