I just want to buy the kit. Had the recall done already that just does the ball & sockets for the 97 & 98's. That was many years ago.

CANZ9700 Throttle Control Cable & Linkage Package.

I had a hair raising experience just the other day and kinda don't want my throttle sticking anymore!

What's the problem that you want to use a old recall package. There isn't any reason that the new recall should be sticking. Far as I known they are the same parts it's just that the new recall comes with a throttle cable also.

I don't think my throttle cable has ever been replaced. I can not budge my throttle cable at all. When I move the linkage by the tps and pump it also is not very smooth. I drove the truck in some of the muddiest conditions all summer before I retired it this fall and I think some of the mud/water has siezed things up a little! Also the recall kit costs $22. 75 with studs and a new cable. I called this summer when I wanted just the throttle cable and they wanted over $110 of my dollars  So for me if this recall kit works on my 98 it will be a no brainer!

I have owned the truck since new and did have a throttle recall done on it. No clue what they did!

Don't bet on the dealer doing what they were suppossed to do. I took my 94 in for the throttle and heater & A/C blower overlay harness recalls, both NHTSA recalls). When I picked it up it was at closing time and I was going to drive about 50 miles to a meeting then home. I started out and had no lock up and no O/D. I pulled off the interstate and found a safe place to stop and checked the TPS, it was unhooked. I plugged it in and went on with my evening. Later I found that the linkage bracket had screws missing and the TPS was out of adjustment.

2 years +- later I had the interior out to dry the carpets because of the A/C condensate drainback problem and thought it would be a good idea to check their work on the heater & A/C blower overlay harness. Guess what, even though I had the invoice with the labor and parts on it and the name of the turkey that supposedly did the job, it had not been touched. My ingition switch had melted the plastic steering wheel trim and the wires were green with the insulation shrunk back 1/2 inch from the connector. They (the dealer) were glad to give me the kit, so I could do the mod myself, because they got the idea that I would go to Chrysler and to the NHTSA with the paper work and the truck. That assumption on their part made them very cooperative.

So anytime you have a recall, check carefully to see if it was done and done correctly.
