I don't know if that will fit the earlier 2nd gen trucks, but you could look into a cup smoothie fron Geno's. It atleast puts the cup holders where you expect them, at the center console. Much better than reaching down for the cup of coffee in the morning on your way to work.

I think it's for the "newer" 2nd gens. 98 and ups? Doesn't look like it would fit on my 96, unless you take out the current boot and use the one for the new console. Hey I guess that may work too. Don't really know for sure.

This is for '98 and up for sure. It might fit an older one but something would probably have to be modified. The t-case shifter is totally different on '94-'97 and of course changed in '98.

Geno's Cup Smoothie

I bought a cup smoothie and thought life would be alot nicer, but if you have a bottle or 32 oz cup in the holder and try to shift into 4th gear it isn't going to happen, the shift hits the bottle or cup and won't go into gear, wish i could have a short throw shifter for my poor 96 ctd. :{

Thanks for the post nfox ... figured. Haven't ordered it, just figuring that would happen. I was thinking the larger diameter cooooooool Heberram shift knob would be even worse. :cool:

Can the smoothie be tweaked, i. e. cut away, in some fashion?

There is a post in the NWBombers web site about a "Whiplash" shifter. You need to call Jesse @ 253-850-9422. not sure on price, around 130 maybe, thats a guess.

I would'nt buy a cup holder like that. I have the same set up in my truck and the cup holders are completley useless, especially if your short like me. I bought a smoothie from Geno's but I do not have the problem of the shifter hitting it.

Cup smoothie

In 4th gear the shift knob is over top of the hole in the cup holder, so you would have to shorten up the arm rest 4" and then it would clear. Oo.

Looks like mine except mine has the boot on the left for the 4x4 shifter. Don't know if it will fit the earlier 2nd gen's.
